Greg Haeger enters his 13th season at the helm of the Madonna
University baseball team. Haeger led the Crusaders to back-to-back
Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season titles in 2005
and 2006 and added a third in four season with the 2008 title. Hager
has led MU to
five straight regional tournament appearances as well.
Haeger led the Crusaders to their fifth straight season with at least
30 wins in 2008 after posting a 37-14 overall mark, including a 19-5
league record which produced a WHAC regular season championship. The
Crusaders then rolled through the WHAC Tournament, going 3-0 to
capture the tournament title.
During the 2007 season, Haeger helped Madonna to wins against NCAA
Division I foe Western Michigan and the fifth-ranked NAIA Spring Arbor
Cougars in the regional tournament.
In 2006, Haeger guided Madonna to a 35-21-1 overall record and a 13-3
mark in the conference.
After two conference tournament titles, four NAIA regional appearances
and several individual coaching awards, Haeger added a missing piece
to his coaching legacy in 2005 when he guided the Crusaders to a 40-16
record and the WHAC regular season championship. At the helm of the
baseball program, Haeger, 38, guided his team to their fifth NAIA
regional tournament appearance and a spot in the NAIA top-25 for the
first time in school history in 2005, peaking at No. 18 for most of
the season.
