The Ellenberger home has four resident rooms with no more than three students per room, a study room, kitchen, dining and living area, and an attached apartment for the boarding home parents and their family. There is a laundry and storage facility in the back. The home is equipped with computers with Internet access, television, and a VCR/DVD player.

Keith and Krista Ellenberger are with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA). They have three sons and have served as boarding home for 13 years. This is their second year at Dakar Academy.

After school hours, the boys in the Ellenberger home are free to study, hang out with friends, or participate in sports practices and games. Dinner is served at 6:00, and curfew on school nights is 8:00. After evening devotions, students have study time until lights out at 10:00. Boarding home students attend Sunday worship in campus in the auditorium. The boys enjoy many weekend activities, including going to the beach, playing computer games, and having bead-gun wars.
