Dedicated in 1993 to O. Jerry Lund, a boarding home parent who drowned in 1992 early in the first semester the home opened. was constructed with funds from the International Mission Board, SBC. Housed on the second floor, this home contains a large great room with study and dining areas, a kitchen, ten large resident rooms with no more than two students per room, four shared bathrooms with three toilets, two showers, and four sinks, two rooms for a resident assistant, an attached two-bedroom apartment for the boarding parents, and a laundry room. The home is equipped with computers with Internet access, TV, VCR and DVD players.

john and Jenny Van'tland are with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA). They have a toddler named Levi. This is their 3rd year as boarding home parents at Dakar Academy.

Breakfast is ready by 7:00 AM and school begins at 8:00 AM. Residents come home for lunch at 12:05 PM. After school hours, the girls in the Van'tland home are free to study, hang out with friends, or participate in drama, musical, and sports team and intramural activities. Dinner is served at 6:00, and curfew on school nights is 8:00. After evening devotions, students have study time until lights out at 10:00. Curfew on Friday is 11:00. Saturday is 10:00. Boarding home students attend Sunday worship at 10:00 on campus in the school auditorium.
