  • This is your last chance to really boost your GPA.  Your transcript through the end of this year will go with your college application!

  • Take the PSAT in October to practice for the SAT and also enter the National Merit Scholarship program (if you are a U.S. citizen).

  • Take some virtual tours of college campuses online.

  • Narrow your prospective college list to 3-5 schools.  Check the Guidance Links for some great search websites.  Request information from your top picks.

  • What about a major?  Start doing some career exploration by talking to staff members and doing some online investigation.

  • Take the SAT no later than May of your Junior year.

  • The ACT is offered in October and February – check to see if your prospective colleges prefer ACT scores.

  • Are you an international student who may need to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)?  Check with your prospective colleges to see if they require a TOEFL score.  You may want to take the TOEFL in the spring of your junior year.

  • Choose a strong Senior year academic schedule of classes.

  • Look into scholarship possibilities – FastWeb is a good source for information.  Check the bulletin board in the office for scholarships.
