Dakar Academy Elementary School is a vibrant international community where learning and joy go together. Students from more than 20 countries join with North American trained and certified teachers to build a community where we learn in an atmosphere of caring, discovery and inquiry. Quality teaching and learning are key to growth in our children — academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
The Fine Arts program at DA includes opportunities for students to participate in the visual arts, drama and music at all grade levels.
Student artwork is continually on display in the shelter area, and a judged art show is part of the yearly Fine Arts Festivals in May with appearances by the school choirs and performances of monologues and 1-act plays.
Dakar Academy is a college preparatory, co-educational boarding and day school program primarily for missionary kids (MKs), providing kindergarten through grade 12. Boarding for children of missionaries begins in grade 6. Our boarding homes are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International, and it is the only accredited boarding program in Africa. Dakar Academy has approximately 200 students in its academic program with approximately 40 students in boarding. We are located on a six-acre campus in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal, and are situated in a quiet, residential area.
