fine & Performing Arts

At Dakar Academy Schools, the performing arts are more than just extracurricular—they're an essential part of our students’ growth and expression. Nearly half of our secondary students are actively involved in the performing arts, showcasing their talents both on and off the stage.

A Stage for Every Story

Through drama and choir classes offered at the high school level, students sharpen their vocal, acting, and performance skills while building confidence and teamwork. Students in grades 6–12 at DA Central have the opportunity to participate in two major productions each year. These performances have included unforgettable renditions of Frozen Jr., Moana Jr., The Jungle Book, The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever and more.

Behind-the-Scenes Brilliance

For students who shine behind the curtain, there are plenty of ways to get involved—from set design and costume creation to makeup artistry and audiovisual production. These roles are vital to bringing each story to life and allow students to explore technical and creative disciplines in a hands-on environment.

Leading in Worship

In addition to theater and musical productions, students can also join the student worship band, which leads chapel worship each week. This is a meaningful way for students to use their musical gifts in service to their school community and grow as spiritual leaders.
